Refund & cancellation.

How refunds work for online courses and field sessions, and what happens when NBSC has to cancel or modify a session.

Last updated: April 30, 2026

Level 1 Foundations (online)

NBSC offers a 30-day satisfaction guarantee on Level 1 Foundations. If you've worked through the material and it isn't a fit, request a full refund within 30 days of purchase from our contact form. We don't require a reason. If you've completed the certification examination and earned the credential, the 30-day window has closed for that purchase.

Field sessions (Levels 2–4)

Field session refunds depend on how far out you're cancelling:

When you cancelRefund
More than 30 days before startFull refund
15–30 days before start75% refund or full credit toward a future session
7–14 days before start50% refund or full credit toward a future session
Less than 7 days before startNo refund; credit may be offered at NBSC discretion

If NBSC cancels a session

Instructors have full authority to delay, shorten, modify, or cancel a session for safety reasons — weather, conditions, or operational risk. When that happens, you get:

  • A full refund processed within 5 business days, or
  • A full credit applied to a future session of your choosing.

You choose which. NBSC does not pass on weather-related costs (gear rental, travel, lodging) that you arranged separately — please buy refundable arrangements where possible for any out-of-province session.

Transfers

Your registration can be transferred to a different upcoming session (subject to availability) with at least 7 days notice and no fee. Transferring to another person is allowed where the recipient meets the same Level 1 prerequisite and eligibility requirements.

How to request a refund

Email refunds@nationalbushcraft.ca or use the contact form with the topic set to "Refund or cancellation". Include your order number and the session or course name.
